Step 2: Warm Up Engine and Position Car
Run engine for 5 minutes to warm oil (flows better). Turn off and wait 2 minutes. Park on level ground. Engage parking brake. Lift front if needed with jack stands (never work under car supported only by jack).
3 Step 3: Drain Old Oil

Step 3: Drain Old Oil
Locate oil drain plug under engine. Place drain pan underneath. Loosen plug with socket wrench (usually 14-17mm). Remove plug carefully - oil will flow fast. Let drain completely (5-10 min).
4 Step 4: Replace Oil Filter
Step 4: Replace Oil Filter
Locate oil filter (usually on side of engine). Use filter wrench to loosen and remove. Wipe mounting surface clean. Apply thin layer of new oil to new filter gasket. Hand-tighten new filter until gasket contacts, then 3/4 turn more.
5 Step 5: Add New Oil
Step 5: Add New Oil
Replace drain plug (torque to 20-25 ft-lbs or snug, don't overtighten). Locate oil fill cap on engine top. Use funnel to add oil (check manual for capacity). Start with 1 quart less than total.
6 Step 6: Check Level and Test
Step 6: Check Level and Test
Wait 1 minute. Pull dipstick, wipe clean, reinsert fully, pull out again. Level should be between MIN and MAX marks. Add oil as needed. Start engine, run 30 seconds. Check for leaks. Recheck level after 5 minutes.
