Getting Started
What is "What's the Process For"?
We're a platform dedicated to providing clear, step-by-step guides for improving your skills, business, and knowledge. Our processes cover everything from fishing techniques to professional development.
How do I find processes?
Use the search bar on the homepage or browse our Explore page. You can filter by categories, featured processes, or search for specific topics.
Is it free to use?
Yes! Browsing and viewing processes is completely free. Creating an account unlocks additional features like saving processes and organizing them in folders.
Using Processes
What are "steps" and "options"?
Each process is broken down into sequential steps. Within each step, you'll find options - these are different tools, products, or approaches you can use to complete that step.
Can I save processes for later?
Yes! Create a free account and click the save button on any process. You can organize saved processes into custom folders from your dashboard.
What do the likes mean?
Likes indicate how helpful the community finds a process or option. Higher likes generally mean more people have found it valuable.
Account & Features
How do I create an account?
Click the "Register" button in the top right corner. You can sign up with email, Google, or GitHub.
What are folders?
Folders let you organize your saved processes by category, project, or any way that makes sense to you. Create unlimited folders from your dashboard.
Can I contribute my own processes?
We're currently working on this feature! Soon you'll be able to create and share your own step-by-step processes with the community.
API & Integrations
Can I use the API on the Free plan?
Yes. Every plan — including Free — gets a public REST API key and Claude (MCP) access. Plans differ in throughput: Free is 200 requests/day, Starter is 2,000, Team is 10,000, Business is 50,000, and Enterprise is unlimited. Mint a key from your /account/api-keys page.
How do I connect Claude Desktop?
Mint a personal key at /account/api-keys, then paste the JSON config from /developers/mcp into your Claude Desktop config file. Restart Claude and the WTPF tools (whoami, list_processes, get_process, publish_process, etc.) become available in any conversation.
What happens if I hit my rate limit?
You get a 429 with a Retry-After header — the integration should back off and retry. We don't hard-stop your account or charge overages. If you regularly bump into limits, that's a signal to upgrade a tier.
How do I rotate an API key?
Mint a new key first, switch your integration over, verify it works, then revoke the old key from /account/api-keys. We don't expire keys automatically — rotation is on you, but it's painless.
What if a key leaked?
Revoke it immediately from /account/api-keys (or the org-level page if it was an org key). The revoke takes effect on the next request — usually within seconds. Then mint a new one and update your integration. Tell us at /contact if you suspect data was accessed.
Can I revoke a member's org key?
Yes — owners and admins can revoke any org key from the organization's API keys page. Removing the member from the organization auto-revokes every key they minted, so offboarding is a no-extra-step affair.
