Remove tank lid. Flush and watch: flapper not sealing, fill valve running continuously, or float stuck? Most common: worn flapper.

Turn off water. Flush to empty tank. Remove old flapper from overflow tube. Clean flapper seat. Install new flapper - match size and type.

Water should stop 1" below overflow tube. Adjust float height by pinching clip and sliding up/down or turning adjustment screw.
4 Step 4: Check Chain Length

Chain should have 1/2" slack when flapper is closed. Too tight: won't seal. Too loose: won't open fully. Adjust hook position.
5 Step 5: Test and Fine-Tune

Turn water back on. Let tank fill. Flush. Watch for leaks. Add food coloring to tank - if color appears in bowl after 15 min, flapper still leaking.
