Step 1: Pick LVP (luxury vinyl plank)

Stay above 5mm thick for residential. Wear layer 12-20 mil for normal traffic, 22+ mil for kitchens/entries. Click-lock (not glue-down) for DIY.

Step 3: Prep the subfloor (level, clean)

Sweep, vacuum, fill cracks. Subfloor must be flat within 3/16" over 10 ft. Use self-leveling compound on dips.
