Stack boxes in the room where they'll be installed for 48 hours. Vinyl expands and contracts with temperature; uninstalled planks adjust to room conditions.

3 Step 3: Prep the subfloor (level, clean)

Sweep, vacuum, fill cracks. Subfloor must be flat within 3/16" over 10 ft. Use self-leveling compound on dips.
4 ft level to check flatness
Slide across floor. Any gap under = needs leveling.

Snap planks together. Stagger end joints (no joints in adjacent rows aligned). Leave 1/4" gap at walls (covered by baseboard).
