Mark outlet location 12-16 inches above floor. Check that no plumbing or wiring exists in the wall at that location using a stud finder.

Trace old-work electrical box on wall. Use drywall saw to carefully cut opening. Fish electrical cable from power source to new location.

Turn off power to circuit. Drill holes through studs and fish 14/2 or 12/2 NM cable from existing outlet to new location.

Strip cable sheathing, connect wires to outlet: black to brass screw, white to silver, bare copper to green ground screw.
