Remove outdoor unit cover (usually screws or clips). Remove debris around unit. For indoor coil: access through blower compartment.

Use soft brush or vacuum with brush attachment to remove leaves, dirt, cottonwood. Work gently - coil fins bend easily.

Spray no-rinse coil cleaner on coils (outdoor: outside-in, indoor: inside-out). Let foam sit 10-15 minutes to break down grime.

Gently rinse outdoor coil with garden hose (low pressure, inside-out). Indoor coil: wipe with damp cloth. Straighten bent fins. Replace covers.
