Find translucent reservoir on master cylinder near firewall (usually driver side).

Check with engine off and cold - fluid expands when hot and gives false reading.

Look through reservoir at fluid level - should be between MIN and MAX lines.

Brake fluid should be clear to light amber - if dark brown or black, needs flushing.

If below MIN line, clean cap area, remove cap, add correct DOT-rated fluid to MAX line.
